Dear colleagues,
Please find enclosed a complete application form that you can provide any of your students who would like to apply for a double degree project at the Politecnico di Milano.
These documents include the double degree application form (2 pages), the learning agreement (1 page) where students have to indicate the Laurea Magistrale course in Engineering to which they are applying and an accommodation form (1 page), in case students are interested in applying to one of our residences.
The following documents have to be included in the application form:
* An official transcript of records
* A letter of Motivation
* A CV
* A proof of Italian proficiency (if available)
* A proof of foreign language proficiency excluding Italian (if available)
* An official letter attesting that the candidates have been officially selected by your institution to take part in the double degree projects
Scholarships are also available to double degree students to cover accommodation costs with one of the Student Residences with which the Politecnico di Milano has signed specific agreements.
The complete application form for scholarship must be sent together with the double degree application form.
Those candidates who do not expressly indicate their desire to be taken into consideration for scholarships will not be considered.
Priority in the selection will be given to students with low income.
The deadline for the applications is May 1st 2006.
Unfortunately, no applications can be accepted after this date. These documents must be sent by mail (faxed and incomplete documents are not considered).
Double Degree candidates also have the unique opportunity to apply to the Alta Scuola Politecnica (ASP).
ASP is a joint institution of Politecnico di Milano and Politecnico di Torino, addressed to those young talents who want to develop their interdisciplinary capabilities for leading and promoting innovation.
ASP runs parallel to the universities' two year Master of Science programs and offers 150 students, chosen through a highly selective process, the possibility to develop their interdisciplinary abilities through courses taught exclusively in English and multidisciplinary projects in collaboration with important companies and organizations. ASP puts together the best minds of Design, Architecture, and Engineering, allowing students to develop interdisciplinary teamwork and innovative thinking.
Students completing the program will receive a double degree from both universities as well as the ASP diploma.
Fee-waivers are offered to all ASP students. The fee waiver concerns both the tuition fees of the Laurea Magistrale of Politecnico di Milano and the tuition fees of ASP. In addition, ASP provides scholarships to 23 top-level foreign students that have been admitted first in a Master of Science programme and secondly to the ASP, covering tuition fees, accommodation expenses, and project-related activities.
All the detailed information is available at
http://www.asp-poli.it/ and the call for applications will soon be available on-line on the same web-page.
The selection process for the ASP and the double degree program are independent of each other. Therefore, interested students must follow the two different application paths. Since the processes are independent, if a student is for some reason not accepted to the ASP program, this has no bearing on the final selection to the double degree program, which the student would still be eligible for.
